Love. Lies. Secrets

A Deep Thing tells the story of widow Kendall Jackson, trying to move on after her husband's sudden death--a diving accident in the Blue Hole in Belize. Ryder, her nineteen-year-old stepson, a Reality TV star, wants nothing to do with her. When Kendall receives an unexpected telephone call from a cave diver in Mexico everything changes. Before his death, her husband had arranged a diving expedition as a birthday gift for his son. Kendall attempts to pull herself together and persuade Ryder to honor his father's last wish.
When they arrive in Mexico, a paradise of beautiful waters and lush green jungles, they discover the mysterious world of cenotes, astonishing, deep iridescent blue, freshwater limestone holes and caverns scattered across the Yucatan. Most of them on private land, inaccessible to the outside world. Why?

What's so secret and what was her husband hiding?

Take the trip, join the journey.

A Deep Thing is A. K. Smith's first fiction novel.
